Thought of the Morning

The other day, the assigned Psalm for noon-day was Psalm 146. It says, in part:

Put not your trust in rulers, nor in any child of the earth,
for there is no help in them.
When they breathe their last, they return to the earth,
and in that day their thoughts perish.

I would extend that out beyond individuals to include institutions. Those things that are "on earth" are really temporal; God remains as the constant and eternal. Never confuse the two. You'll be greatly disappointed if you do.

    Truel but we do have memories and I wonder if they go with us to everlasting life?

    I don't know, Peggins. But remember that you can't take all things with you on all journeys. (That's not my saying, that's C.S. Lewis).
