I am lots of things!
I am an Episcopal priest in the diocese of Georgia, serving a congregation in Valdosta, GA. I didn't enter into this vocation lightly or easily. I was not able to pursue my call in the city in which I live because the bishop of the diocese of Florida has a "rule" that he doesn't ordain people who are "partnered and gay." Fortunately, I live close enough to the Georgia border that I was able to join a church, participate in the choir and served as a lector/intercessor/LEM. My journey with God in discernment of my call took me to Virginia Theological Seminary, and I graduated with my M.Div. in May, 2021.
I am a lesbian and a cradle Episcopalian. I am a licensed massage therapist, a former public radio journalist, a performer/director and producer with the Mickee Faust Club, a notary public, a fan of New England sports teams, an activist for LGBTQ+ rights. I have completed the Education for Ministry program (EfM) and have served as a co-mentor and mentored a new group in the diocese of Georgia.
I am originally from New Hampshire, graduated from Governor Dummer Academy (now Governor's Academy), the University of Missouri-Columbia (BJ'90), and Florida School of Massage, Summer Session 2002. I am a past co-president of the PFLAG-Tallahassee chapter.
In simpler terms, I'm a human being seeking to live in Love with God and my neighbors. This blog is an outgrowth of my spiritual journey.
