I'm sure others out there are wanting to nominate their own state for this particular prize, but really and truly... Florida is the stupidest state in this country. We have elected a man who stole (yes, stole!!) 1.7 billion dollars from Medicare as the CEO of Columbia/HCA to be the Governor and the leader of the fourth largest state in the union. We elected a thuggish state legislator to be our junior U.S. Senator (the fact that Marco Rubio could campaign with a straight face as some king of "outsider" is ridiculous.) And in Leon County, we tossed out a champion for the environment from our County Commission, and replaced him with a football player who had never voted in an election before this year.
Unbelievable. And yet, sadly, there it is.
God has a purpose, I know. And I am trusting in God that we are kept safe from what I see as the return of darkness to Tallahassee. All we can do is pray. And let God sort it out.

I heard a rumor around the church yesterday that Scott may be up on charged before he can be sworn in..
Have you ever considered how childish you sound equating a Republican victory to "darkness." God does not care about political parties or elections. Do not mistake political prejudices for theology. They are just that, prejudices. No doubt, Scott may be a crook (which is why I did not vote for him.) But for someone who supports Episcopalians from New York and New Jersey kicking Episcopalians from California and Florida out of the churches they built and financially maintained makes you no different than Rick Scott, doesn't it? He stole from Medicare. Schori, Crew and you stole from orthodox Christians. Ever wonder what God thinks of that?
Dear Anonymous Accuser (who I presume is the one from Winter Park): First, get a name. I don't care if it's your real name, but it is equally as childish for you to comment under "Anonymous". Like I'm gonna track you down or something?! Second, I don't believe God has a political affiliation, and I have been a registered Republican and have voted for Republicans. But I live in Tallahassee. I live in Florida. These Republicans are not of the party of Lincoln. They privatize for the purposes of enriching their all-ready rich friends: what does Jesus say about that behavior? Finally, church buildings are not the property of the people; they are the property of the Episcopal Church. When the people decide they are no longer wanting affiliate with the Episcopal Church, the people can leave. But they can't take their building with them. And I fail to see the equation of stealing from Medicare and what you claim is stealing "orthodox Christianity". If you are really Anglican, you wouldn't be drawing north/south lines the way you are.
