Thoughts of Gratitude

On this morning, I am grateful for the calling of my mentor, Mtr. Lee Shafer, to the be the rector at Grace Church in Anniston, Alabama. The people of Grace are lucky to have found a priest who readily accepts that she is human, encourages others to seek after God amidst all the abundance life provides, and celebrates the Eucharist as a good, and right, and joyful thing. As she is wont to say, "This is GOOD news!"

And I was pleased to read on Facebook that Anita, the brilliance behind the blog Sisterfriends-Together, made it through her surgery, and now will begin the convalescence phase. I'm honored that she is directing her readership to stop in here and see what wild and crazy ideas bounce around in my brain on any given day. Sometimes the thoughts are calm and serene like clouds drifting across a blue sky. Sometimes they feel like a child that's discovered that neato trampoline!! Peruse the entries, leave a comment. I usually answer back. And Godspeed to Anita as she recovers. Her voice in the blogosphere is a warm and humorous welcome to anyone who has been damaged by the liars and thieves who say, "God doesn't love you!" Don't believe 'em, folks! Not only does God love you; God's left the light on for you waiting for you to come home!!
More to come. Stay tuned!

I love the picture as I know where it came from and I have written to the new Rector of Grace Church and wished her well. Keep the thoughts rolling in as they make me understand why I love to be part of a Faith Community and hope others will feel the peace that comes when you do attend regularly.
